Hello. Welcome to our new website.
We designed this website for the purpose of showing people what we are up to on the farm. Right now we are in the process of trying to figure out how to design this webpage. So please check back often as things will always be changing on here.
As of today we really can't say a whole lot about the farm as its almost dissappeared under all the snow we got. The black horse in the picture above is named Tex and thats my Husbands Josh's horse the palamino in the middle is my horse and her name is Halo, the paint to the right is Chiquita and she is kind of a family horse. We also have two dogs a German Shepherd named Thunder and a Siberian Husky named Vegas.
As for the name of our Ranch, Bangtail is a old western word for wild mustang which the two horses on the right are. The whole ranch started when we got three wild mustangs. A young colt named Dakota he was a beautiful chestnut, a palamino Halo, and of course the paint Chiquita. Well shortly after they started out their new life on the farm the young colt Dakota got sick and he wasn't able to overcome it. He passed away on Dec. 13 2007. So we were then on the mission to find my husband a new horse which we turned to Great Expectations Ranch a horse rescue and we purchased Tex a Quarter horse cross. The story of getting him is a adventure in itself and is a story for another day.
As of right now my Grandpa lives on the farm and we live 4miles away but we are almost out there everyday. We try to keep life simple on the farm and my Husband hopes to start restoring a old John Deere this summer and I hope to plant a flower garden in memory of my Grandma Beverly who Ironicly passed away the same day as Dakota. Every year we throw a big shindig at the farm so come back for pictures and stories about this years shindig.
Josh hopes to start a Mounted Search and Rescue team. His idea is that he will be willing to travel as far as needed but he hopes to serve mainly Sargent, Ransom, Richland, Dickey, and LaMoure Counties. He hopes to have it started by 2010 but it really depends on who he can find to join in with him and if his horse agrees with the training this summer. We all hope he can make it work he really loves to help people.
